Church Security Team Training
Protecting people while preserving a welcoming church.
Course overview
A safe and welcoming church does not happen by accident—it is built through preparation, teamwork, and sound judgment. This comprehensive one-day course is designed for pastors, church leadership, and volunteer security teams.
Students learn to identify potential threats, communicate during critical incidents, de-escalate confrontations, protect children’s ministries, respond to medical emergencies, and work as a coordinated security team. The course also covers emergency planning, facility assessments, rules of engagement, active-threat response, legal and ethical considerations, and scenario-based exercises. When appropriate for an approved armed security program, range training can emphasize accuracy, judgment, movement, communication, and responsible decision-making.
Whether a church is building a new security ministry or strengthening an existing team, this training provides practical tools and realistic exercises to help volunteers protect lives with professionalism, confidence, and compassion.
